SALTASH HALF MARATHON and 5K and FUN RUN
EVENT RULES AND INFORMATION
1.1 The Saltash Half Marathon and 5K and Fun Run are road running events held under UK Athletics rules for competition
1.2 All runs start and finish at Longstone Park, Saltash, PL12 6DW.
1.3 These events form part of the Saltash May Fair weekend.
1.4 There will be family entertainment, refreshments and activities available in Longstone Park throughout the day.
1.5 All competitors compete at their own risk The organisers will not be liable for any injury, loss, damage, action, claim, costs or expenses which may arise as consequence of participation in this event.
1.6 All runners must not compete in these races unless they are in good health on the day.
1.7 Please do not attend if you or anyone within your household has shown symptoms of Covid-19 in the 2 weeks before the event.
2.1 All runners must obey marshal instructions and take responsibility for their own safety whilst running the course, especially on the public highway. Marshals are not allowed to stop any traffic.
2.2 Callington Road will be closed to traffic, from the junction with Church Road to the junction with Glebe Avenue, for the start of each run.
2.3 All runners must follow the course as designed and follow the normal rules of the road except where otherwise instructed by representatives of the Police or local authority or other authorised persons.
2.4 On single track roads runners must run on the left-hand side of the road unless directed otherwise by the Police or race official.
2.5 This is a hilly course and is not suitable for wheelchair athletes
3.1 Race entries are available online only, no postal entries
3.2 Registration will also be available at the Saltash May Fair on the Saturday before the runs from 10:00 to 16:00 and in Longstone Park from 08:00 to 10:00 on the day.
3.3 The Half Marathon and 5K run are limited to 200 runners in each event. There is no entry limit for the Fun Run
3.4 Entries on the day will be available unless the race limit is reached beforehand
3.5 Entries on the day are subject to an additional fee of £2 (does not apply to the Fun Run)
3.6 Entry fees are non-refundable. However, race numbers can be transferred to another runner at any time before the runs start.
3.7 The information provided when entering these events will be used solely for the purpose of race results. identification for health and safety reasons or to convey event information. Competitors’ details will only be available to members of the results team and appropriate race officials and will not be passed to any other person or agency.
4.1 There is no parking available at the start / finish area
4.2 Parking is available in the following nearby car parks:

Culver Road, PL12 4EA
Saltash Leisure Centre, PL12 6DJ
5.1 There will be a baggage stowage area at the Start / Finish area
5.2 The baggage stowage area will be monitored but all bags are left at the owner’s risk.
6.1 The Half Marathon has a cut-off time of 3 hours, (approximately 14 minute/mile pace).
6.2 There will be back markers in the event running at this pace.
6.3 Event marshals will be withdrawn from the course after the running back markers have past their location.
6.4 There is no cut-off time for the Fun Run or 5K run.
7.1 The wearing of headphones or use of personal audio devices is not permitted. When wearing such devices you are unable to hear traffic, event officials or other competitors. Marshals around the course will note any individuals wearing personal audio devices and anyone wearing such devices will be disqualified from the race
7.2 Dogs, wheelchairs, wheeled carriages and cycles are not permitted in any of these runs.
7.3 Competitors must not be accompanied or followed, either on foot or by bicycle or vehicle of any description.
7.4 For the Half Marathon and 5K only: The pushing of persons in any device (including but not limited to wheelchair, buggy, pushchair, stroller or similar) is not permitted.
7.5 For the Fun Run only: Wheelchairs, buggies, pushchairs, strollers etc. are permitted. We ask that all buggy runners start from the rear of the field for the safety of themselves and other runners.
7.6 Race numbers must be pinned to the front of your running vest or top. Medical information must be entered on the rear of the race number.
