MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 12 SEPTEMBER 2005

Track: Contractor due to line track this week. Lights due to be switched on this week. New pavilion now taking shape. S Snookes contacted by PAC ref extra throws facilities, jump area repairs and re-accreditation of the facility. Costs being obtained by PCC.  Changing block also being built. 

 

Composite Club: K Reed advised that the Armada AF team had finished second in the league and are therefore promoted to Division 1. More competitors will be needed for the team next year to avoid the drop back to Div 2. It is hoped that this years success will generate more interest for next years team from other clubs. Thanks were extended to Keith/Graham and Allan Herdman for all their hard work in making the year a success.

Graham submitted a breakdown of expenses/No of travellers by club for the season. Proposal to be made at next meeting on how the Forum will support. Action NR/PR/JC. 

A new Team Manager will be needed for next year as Graham will not be available.

 

Finance:  J Crockford advised we have £7,504.85 in the bank plus £20.10 cash. Some invoices still outstanding from the Saltram 5K.

Total income from 5K was £1046.50 with expenditure to date at £202,47 with some invoices still outstanding 

 

Bookings for winter months – do not yet know the cost of the floodlit facility. Action NR

 

3K Series and 1 Mile Junior Races:  9.11.05, 8.2.06 and 8.3.06 – booked track for 2 hours 7-9. Graded Races. Poster to be produced. Action PR. Entry Fees set at Seniors £2-00 (all 3 for £5-00), Juniors (U15) £1-00 (all 3 for £2-50) Junior Mile Races start at 1900, 3K Races at 1915. Entries from 1800 on Race nights. Prizes for Seniors, Veterans and Juniors (all 3 races to count). Frank Elford agreed to sponsor the series – Thanks to Frank were extended. Please encourage your Club Runners to come along and have a go. Action ALL.

 

Hoe 10: 19.2.05. Sub Committee set up. Race Entry Fee agreed. Permit to apply for, Entry Form to produce and circulate, Contact Plymouth Albion, Police and St John Ambulance. Action PR. Course may need re-measuring.

South West Road Running Development Meeting: Agreed on SW Hub Intercounties event to be held at Taunton Half Marathon 2 April 2004. Teams Max 8 Men (4 to count); Max 6 Ladies (3 to count). County vests to be worn but athletes can still count for Club Teams. AAAofE EGM planned for 29 October in Birmingham, further information to be circulated. Update received on present status of ERRA. Update also received on proposed structure of Hubs.

 

Saltram 5K: Thanks to all for help and for taking part. Event a success. St John Ambulance never showed up, need to establish reasons why as they had been booked. Action NR

 

Forum Grand Prix: Agreed at July meeting to bin it, further debate was carried out on whether to carry out. It was established that very few athletes had actually taken part in the number of races to qualify for the overall Grand Prix awards. The Grand Prix needs a lot of work to collate the results and it was felt it was not worth carrying on. Thanks were extended to Graham and Keith for their hard work in collating the results. The presentation to winners will be made at the AGM on Monday 10th October at Windsor House 7-30pm. Please encourage winners to come along:

K Reed – thanks to everyone who turned up for Ivybridge Beacon Challenge – entry numbers a little disappointing.

 

South of England cross country championships 30.1.06 in Exmouth.  Looking for people to help out with that.

 

Seaton Half Marathon – Lead runner from a local club was sent the wrong way, finally finished 12th, protest not upheld. Other issues on the course.

 

Armada AF – Do we invest in Field equipment eg Javelins, Discus, Hammer etc. Have we got availability of  Council owned equipment? Action NR

 

Spring Warm Up – 2nd April 2006 – also plan for a Forum arranged open meeting in March 2006 to encourage athletes to come and have a go in the hope of strengthening the Armada AF team.

Autumn Trail – September 25th – help appreciated.

 

The meeting was saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Tricia Pill of IS, our condolences were passed on to her club and family.
