Track: Contractors were due back on site today to put the lines back on
the track. There is pressure being put
on now.
S Endacott had meeting with S Snooks. Sent in list of requirements on behalf of
the club so that the facility can be used.
There are other outstanding issues in addition to the lining.
The current rates of hire are £8. New rates will be £10 per hour and £20 per
hour with floodlights.
C Carpenter advised that PAC had booked the track
for 4 nights/week. The Forum have
booked it for Saturday mornings.
S Payne advised Harriers are planning to hold an
endurance night every Tuesday and are expecting approx. 20 people. S Endacott said PAC will put track rules
down in an effort to work together and get the best use of the track for all
concerned.
Composite Club: There is an outstanding action to deal with finances for the season. The total bill for coaches to venues is in
excess of £1,000. It was proposed that
the Forum make a contribution of 50% and the balance be broken down in respect
of clubs, numbers and percentages of involvement in meetings. J McGhee proposed that the whole £1,000 for
coach travel be paid by the Forum.
There were no objections.
C Carpenter felt a link was needed between Armada
going towards the Young Athletes League.
We need vision that in a year’s time athletes are feeding into the Young
Athletes League.
NR confirmed we will be looking at the young
athletes pathway in the future.
3K Series on
the Track: Hopefully lines will be put on the tack in
time. Entries will be done on the
night.
Plymouth Hoe
10: PR advised entry forms are available. Same entry fee as last year. The committee have been assigned jobs. Police have been spoken to. Albion are giving the same support as
before. There has been no reply from St
Johns. We still need to get hold of
Sutton Harbour and road closure. The course
needs remeasuring so John Crockford will do that.
Website: Carol Sutton was talking about getting domain name which will
cost about £10/15.
SW Road
Running Development: AGM at Birmingham. Proxy forms to be in by 1 pm on 27.10.05.
Saltram 5K: Awaiting reply from St Johns.
Coaching: Awaiting appointment of new chairman.
Use of
Equipment: No charging for equipment when using it for
County Championships. S Endacott is
asking Council to make the equipment available trackside.
Finance: J Crockford advised we have £7,003.89 in the bank, £47.10 in the
bank and £800 outstanding cheques (covered).
Autumn Trail: Thanks to Frank Elford for another good event.
L Chatfield thanked the coaches who have helped at
the sports hall events. Thanks also for
help with Sports Bug. N Rowe thanked
Lance and Debbie. The long term plan is
that this will go up to secondary level and there will be a proper league
structure. It is important we get
youngsters involved in this.
F Elford thanked everyone who turned up at the
Autumn Trail and the many people who helped out on the day.
J McGhee said an official opening of the lights was
mentioned. NR considers the job isn’t
finished until the track is completed.
The Herald want to do a piece and have already been in touch with NR and
as soon as anything is known NR will pass this onto the clubs.
A Herdman reminded that the Tavy 7 is on 13.11.05
and there is a 600 limit. See their
website - tavy7.com.
K Reed has registered composite team for next
year. AGM 10 am this Sunday at
Exeter. Cross country at Exmouth – help
would be appreciated (names to KR or PR please).
C Carpenter wants to put in a bid for three level 2
coaching courses.
D Dane – had a successful Sports Bug week with 9
juniors joining. They now have in
excess of 40 juniors.
S Payne – need to try and set a date when the first
meeting of endurance training will take place.
Hire charge is £30/week for 1½ hours, £1,400/year. S Endacott advised PAC will have two hours a
night and will talk to Harriers about this.
S Payne happy to discuss this but is looking for some commitment from
those who are interested. PR happy to
promote.
C Bunting suggested we look at buying a PA
system. NR has already looked into this
and has seen a decent one for £1,700.
NR said there is a need to improve what we have got. All happy for PR and NR to pursue this
purchase.
C Ede advised that DML Running Club have won a Good
Practice Award. They have circuit
training at Lipson Community College on Wednesday nights - £1.
J Crockford said a DML member had suggested a 24
hour run around the track to celebrate the opening of the track. NR said it was unlikely the lights could be
kept on for 24 hours in a residential district. It was suggested looking at a 12 hour event, perhaps coinciding
with Children in Need.

Voting
for changes – reference to changes for proposal to Foster Report; 4 proposals,
3 of which are easy to decide. The 4th
one is the membership scheme which we think is a bit clouded. £5 for club members on top of club
fees. Unattached runners pay extra
£2.50. However, you can become an
English Athletics Individual Member for £10/year which will discourage people
from joining clubs.
