MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 12 JANUARY 2009

New clubs: Two new clubs in area:

Carbeille Cruisers – attended meeting – Louise (Secretary) and Paul Wilkinson.

Widewell Striders – have been contacted but no reply to date’ PMN now contacted PR and intend to come along to next meeting

 

Minutes of previous meeting: Agreed.

 

Actions from previous meeting:

Obtain Domain Name and update web site. AH apologised and was hoping to move it forward soon. – Action still outstanding AH.

 

Brickfields:

Announcers hut is still in a bad way - PCC aware. PAC investigating alternative replacements with possible use of portacabins. PCC Sports Facilities and Development document received that was strong on words but weak on proposed actions. Strategy questionnaire received – actioned but no feedback. CC still trying to arrange a meeting with Louise Oates and is still awaiting a reply on issues from Clive Thomas.

Track certification received with some limitations on jumps

PSF meeting: Next meeting 18/11 1830 at Windsor House. No attendee from group or any minutes received

 

Life Centre: Presentation to be given on 10/02 1800 at Council House, Warspite Room.

 

Web site: Still awaiting update from AH

Actions: Low maintenance info to be sent to AH – ALL

 

Finance: £5,743 - 41 in bank. £1.23 Cash.

Treasurer reminded all that £10-00 annual affiliation fee to Forum is due – Action ALL

 

Clock:

Old clock with ECH. New in store

 

Sportshall League: Devon County Sportshall Champs on 26 November. Local clubs did well. Next meeting 1st Feb.

 

Composite team – Armada Forum – Registration for Composite Clubss and Southern Mens League and Young Athletes League now complete.

 

EA Affiliation – It is not known how to differenciate between a volunteer and competitor licence number.

 

Saltram 5K – Date 5 September. Plymstock to manage for Forum

 

KR: Ivybridge 10K 9 May entry forms available on EVH club website. Tech T Shirt to all finishers. Devon Schools XC Champs Saturday 17/1, Staddiscombe, help required.   XC Relay event at Flete Estate – Proposed date – 27 September

 

JC: Santa Pud Run – thanks for support. London Marathon trip arranged – still places -  £105 pp. Issue discussed on athlete competing for IS and still being a member of Plymouth Coasters. Action: PC and IS

 

AE: 5 Tors Race – 22 March

 

LC: Lance is concerned on the future funding for his post. Clubs Training Info Required. PAC –Club/school Link info required.

DD: PRR Annual Schools XC event – first event 23/1 Oreston School .

 

DM: IS putting on new M/T event based at Marjon 14/6 1000. 10 mile approx taking in Plym Valley and woodlands.

 

LW: CARBEILLE Cruisers are putting on a 12K approx  charity race and fun run at Torpoint 29/3

 

Workshops/Courses etc:

Safeguarding and protecting children – 2/4, 15/6, 24/9, 14/12.

Equity in your coaching – 24/2, 12/11.

Awards for all – 17/3.

Valuing your sports volunteers – 18/5

A club for all – 19/10

PCC are looking for examples of good practice within sports in Plymouth

Grants available through Sport and Recreational Grant Aid Scheme for bsporting qualifications and travel and accommodation.

PR:

Information on Clubs required for Armada Forum Flyer - STILL – Name of Club, Meeting Times/Venues, Club Contact details, Website. Action – BATS/Plymouth Muskateers. Any photos to enhance leaflet would be welcomed Action ALL .

 

Hoe 10 2009 – 15 February 2009.  Race filling up

Brooks agreed to sponsor. Fun Run entries only available on the day.  Devon County 10 Mile Champs and hosting Peninsula Challenge. – trophies to obtain.

Brickfields OK, Police OK, FA OK, Medals ordered but a lot more expensive than last year. Road Closure –issues with Council/AMEY. Not heard from Sutton Harbour .

Outstanding issues – meet with Albion , obtain water, arrange transport, sort signage and other logistical support. Sort prizes. Still looking for timekeeper.

Need 40 marshals on course – all member clubs are expected to supply support for the event. Names to PR or Amanda Erith/Pat Parritt.

Logo for Forum – Given the change of name for the Forum Group we should look at a change of Logo. Various logos distributed and decision taken.

 

Burrator Run: Thanks for support and large attendance again.

 

EA Restructure: PR gave a brief overview of the restructuring of EA and in particular the SW Region.

 

Road Running Web Site: New web site to be launched later this month. Once fully up and running will be an asset to RR. www.realbuzzrunbritain.com

 

Athletics Networks: The Armada Forum Bid was successful and a meeting has been planned with EA representatives on 29 January. It was agreed that Chris Carpenter and Dave Dane would attend with Paul Ross.

PR circulated bid paperwork and gave a presentation on the content of the Forum bid and what input would be required from member clubs. It was agreed that a meeting be set up to look at bid in greater detail prior to meeting with EA.

Meeting  date – 21 January at Brickfields Sports Centre at 7-30pm

SR proposed a vote of thanks to PR for the work put into the bid.
