MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 12 DECEMBER 2005

Track: Now in use, complete with lights. Track hire PAC trying to come to some agreement with the
Council and pay monthly fee. The
Council has largely agreed to this proposal.
It will be hired by PAC on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, two
hours per night. The Forum will pay for
3 hours/week two hours on a Saturday and one on Tuesday night. PH still plan endurance training on Tuesday
evenings and will provide someone to collect fees from individuals - £1 for
Tuesdays. The charge for Saturday
morning will remain at 50p. CC had
reservations about the track being used for this in the summer months due to
volume of athletes.
3K Series on
the Track: Thanks for all those who helped on the
day. 60+ attended. KR emailed out results. F Elford will sponsor the next event. We need to look at categories. Disappointed by the lack of support from
some of the clubs. CC asked if people
were happy with the refreshments supplied by PAC? PR will ask clubs who travelled to the event.
Plymouth Hoe
10: 200 entries so far. 600 limit.

AAA of England
EGM: All about passing the governance of
athletics from AAA to England Athletics.
The polling had to be 75 in favour of the proposal insufficient votes
for the proposal to be agreed. Legality
of EGM was questioned.
Use of
Equipment: NR is meeting with Steve Snooks to try and
sort this out.
Finance: Cash in hand £5.60 and £8,515.89 in the bank. Affiliation fees due.
Sports Hall
Event: LC went very well. Langley Junior School won the under 11s
category. LC will be pushing it more
next year plus more senior events.
Started an after schools sports hall club at Sir John Hunt Community
College. May look at becoming a
satellite club from one of the Forum clubs.
SEAA Cross
County Championships at Bicton College: 28.1.06
entry forms out today, need to be back by 13.12.05. Expecting 2000+ runners.
Looking for some assistance. CC
advised Devon Championship and Cornwall Championship forms available, together
with English National Championship.
Bids for
Courses: 25% payment now. Plymstock 1 level 2 and 4 modules at £30; PAC 3 level 2 and 1
level 3. TT 2 level 3.
PA System: 2nd quote now received.
Half Marathon: 2500 entries received so far.
Only 500 places remain.
Coaches Forum: Coaches Forum doing some good work. There is an issue with the website address but it will cost to
change it. It now links to all the
clubs. J McGhee now representing
Coaches Forum. Still no chairman in
post. Only 4 coaches attended (10
apologies), despite 50+ coaches courses being funded by the Forum. Meetings will be changed to Fridays to see
if there is any more support. First aid
courses being looked at.
CC trying to get the club house at trackside. Provisional plans have been drawn up. Waiting to hear from the Council as to when
the rest of the facilities will be ready.
Spring warm up 3.4.06. 3K
event in March.
JMcG what is the criteria for free entries for the
half marathon. PR advised category
winners, major sponsors, first 10 men and first 5 women have free places. PH runner who should have had free place
hasnt received one this will be rectified.
Coaches website needs to be paid for by a cheque to Carol Sutton.
SR just short of £1,500 was raised by PRR for
Children in Need.
JC Thanks to everyone who turned up for the Santa
Race yesterday. Positive feedback was
received.

for running and walking course is being changed.

Awaiting
return of clock from Tavistock AC following Tavy 7.

Burrator
Run 11 am at the dam on Boxing Day.

SEAA
Levies due to be paid at the beginning of January. May be worth holding off payment til March which is the
deadline.

Looking
for nominations from Devon clubs for the race of the year. Plymouth Half Marathon won last year.

SW
Road Running Group disappointingly the chap from ERRA did not come
along. Discussions on the new set up
took place. Trying to cover all facets
of the sport over the 7 counties involved in the SW Region (of which NR is the
Chair).
§
ERRA
have put a paper forward on how they see the future of road running in this
country. Supposed to meet with Regional
Chairs but pulled out the day before.
§
Safety
Officer Groups looks like one could be set up in the Bristol area.
